Bali Hotels Association (BHA) is proud to announce the third BHA Sustainable Food Festival, this year in collaboration with Bali Restaurant and Café Association (BRCA), running from Friday, June 30 until Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Celebrating The Best of Bali, this festival is happening over a two week period in 51 locations throughout Bali allowing participating members to showcase in the context of Bali, sustainability which involves preserving the island's natural beauty and resources, promoting cultural heritage, supporting local communities, and ensuring long-term economic viability.
We are delighted to also announce the inaugural Bali Hotels Association Sustainability Food Festival's Authentic Balinese Street Food Dishes Cooking Competition, a noteworthy event that brings together the pillars of sustainability, sports, and culture
The festival allows participating venues to showcase the innovative work they have been putting in to shift to a more sustainable way of operating, from improving skill levels of team members, to building new or improving existing relations with local suppliers, plus working on waste reduction actions.
- Ingredients used must be 100% sourced from Bali
- Menus are encouraged to showcase The Best of Bali
The festival also aims at reducing waste output to as close to zero as possible, by encouraging waste reduction activities such as composting and waste separation to facilitate recycling.
These initiatives are intended to set a benchmark for the future, by being implemented across all operational areas beyond the festival period.

Find a venue near youThis competition celebrates Bali’s culinary heritage and showcases the talent and creativity of member hotels and resorts. Focusing on non-managerial positions, the competition requires participants to source their ingredients solely from Bali, show their art of cooking and captivating stories of the dish in a video submission. The final round of the competition was designed as a live cook-off between 10 chefs on June 28, 2023, at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa.
